Cable Vs DSL
The main difference between Cable and DSL is the speed you can connect to
the internet. With DSL you can go up to 60x faster than standard dial-up
and with Cable you can up to 100x faster. When you consider that most of
us are currently using dial-up, anything over 10x faster is a massive improvement.
The reality is that anything over 30 times faster will be suficient for
virtually anything you want to do online regradless of whether it is Cable
or DSL.
Historically, Cable was always slightly cheaper than DSL. Since the big
players like SBC Yahoo! and Verizon have come on board prices have plummeted
with access available for just $19.95 a month.
So is it really worth paying the extra for Cable? In our opinion no but
it is a great alternative if DSL is not available in your area. Also, if
you already subscribe to other services offered by a cable supplier you
can usually get some pertty good discounts.
